Friends, Romans, Country Men! Lend Me Thy Ears!

Yesterday we had the 5th country level iQIT competition for our company! Venue - Singapore Post Theatrette, Level 5. Here’s the highlights of the event and also our team - “Comm-Marshals” from the Commercial Division!

How about some candids before the Big day?  Wonder how much did Coke pay Nichelle for advertising or Barry for New York’s Tourism Industry!?

Wei… Erhm guys… I think the leafy thing suppose to wear it behind your heads and not on top or in front leh!!! Our theme is not Adam and Leaf… I mean Eve!

Ok. Now for serious business - The competition day.

The Judges - 2 of them from PSB and our QSHE director from APAC. They really threw some difficult questions yesterday!

Makan Kakis - Steph and Hwee Liang among the audience as well! Steph said she prefer my past year projects. Well, I tend to agree with her.

Hehe… Our team’s strategist for Q & A! Stress… Juliana our Commercial GM reading through our project report, trying to think of potential questions judges may ask. I think she scored at least 8/10 for accuracy! Haha…

Wa lau… Never seen “Tin Tin” and our Finance folks so serious in his life before… Relax lah Brudder… Later I buy you Coffebean ok! On!

PK, Si Jie and team in Christmas mood already! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle bells rock…  Santa is here! Don’t play play ah.. Got Fairy some more…

Mai E-ya Hey… Mai E-ya Hoo… Back to school!  Overall Champion for the event! Can you recognise the lady in Pink? Hahaha… Eh, she’s Best Female Speaker ok!

Online learning? Use Exel Campus with our HR team!  Oh, have I mentioned that the questions from the Judges were really tough???

Wa… Not bad… Got movie to watch some more. Oh sorry, it’s watch the poster only. Haha… I thought this team from Logistic was really creative!  And here’s the Best Male Speaker!

Wa lau… I didn’t know this is also Karaoke competition!?! Yoohoo…? You sure you in the right venue??   Oh… they are our Seafreight team - Ocean Thinker… Say guys, ever thought about why Titanic sank??? Somehow I think Jerry (Guy next to Irene) hated my guts. ‘Cuz he squeezed my hand real tight until it hurts when I congratulated him. Hai… What can I say, when you’re good, you’re good!

Of cuz, there is always the photo session after the prize presentation. Guess what we won?

Eh faster! Take our photo first before they chase us out! Eh? How come got twin towers here ah? Geoff said he’s the skinnier tower… That makes Lawrence… Hahaha…

LUKE

This one is for my Best Friend - Luke.

Luke CBTL Brother Luke Lukein theatre

He always says this, “You know Fer, I always think that befriending you is the best thing that turned out for me from my stay in the company”. He tells me, “You are no ordinary girl, Fer. You are different from the rest of your gender.” when I feel lousy about myself.

We’ve become good friends when he came into the company. And still managed to maintain that friendship after he left for better greens, after my life become of one that’s over-buried by work. I remembered how we debated about the last relationship that he had. I remembered how I chided him for the one he has so infatuatedly “taken care” of (I still do and he knows it!) Hehe… And how he comforted me when I almost gave up on myself after my last relationship. How we spoke about the ones that came close to us, the ones that we would like to be close to. *chuckle* Gosh, to a certain extent, I’ve gotta admit that I forgot about him being one of the opposite gender! Hahaha…

Some people used to ask if we ever considered a “get-together”. We merely looked at each other and then… “NAY!!!”, “NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS!!!” were what came out from both of us almost immediately and at the same time. Hahaha….

I’ve got many good friends from cohort of the opposite gender, but none as close as my brother Luke here. He’s always ready to help me out, even when it is an unspoken request. He never laughs at me when my thoughts are way-off realism. He’s always skeptical about those that came close to me so that they don’t hurt. He’s always happy for me when good things turn up for me.

Now that he has finally found someone that fits, I’m really happy for him as well! At the same time, I would also be looking out for you, bro. Make sure you don’t get hurt. But if you do get hurt inevitably, I would be here for you. Call on me, otherwise I would really “KILL” you the next time I see you!

Elaine & Ken’s! :D

Elaine & Ken’s first step to eternal bliss together - 13 Nov 05!

Wow… Attended Elaine & Ken’s wedding dinner @ Meritus Mandarin. Went there with Pak Kiong and Bee Hoon.

Hehehe… BY RIGHT, it’s every alternate seat receives a door-gift (either a teddy or a pair of chopsticks)… BUT BY LEFT, I have the best of both worlds!

Surprised to see that Elaine’s entire SIN HR team turned up! Is this CoOl or is this cOoL!

Look who’s here as well! Jasmine and Hubby!  Uncle Hubby teaching us ladies (or rather, Ng Ming) how to drink without getting drunk… “Ladies, when you go to a pub and came back to your table, always ask for a change of drinks. You never know when it’s has got “extra ingredients in it already…” Hahaha… I see….

Oh ya, not forgetting the ULTIMATE of the evening! Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing a new concoction by the China waitress… Beer-cherry! Hahaha… BH asked for “SHANDY” in exchange for the beer but the China waitress got mixed up and thought “CHERRY”! Hahaha… In the end, looks like I’m not the only one who’s got the best of both worlds!    Check out the satisfied expression! Caught on camera too: NM laughing secretly in the background!

Wa lau… This waiter took the photo for us not “skill-ded” leh… How come snapped our group photo with his colleague in it!?! See the guy in the background next to BH? HAIYO…. Tsk tsk tsk…

Hehehe.. Apart from Ko and Uncle Hubby, the next 2 “youngest” guys at our table… Left to Right: Kerwin & PK.  Say PK, did you put on weight recently??? Sorry man, I already tried my best to adjust this photo to hide your “extras” but…

Across The Border!

Oh oh, supposed to meet them at Bugis at 1.30… Looks like my “break” is too long liao!

Steph and Esther kept telling me, “Travel Light, Girl. Travel Light”.

Hey, Beard Papa’s chezstick for lunch? Cannot lah… Oh I got this for my birthday last year too… Hmmm… Seems like only yesterday!

Waa… We look like angels with the light above our heads huh?

 Ms Yellow!

Eh look, me (Ms Blue) and my boyfrens leh! Handsome huh? Macho Macho Man!

Ms Red - Esther! Johor, Here we come!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+

Singapore has Sakae Sushi.   Ah Ther and Steph brought us to Malaysia’s Sushi King!  I had the teriyaki chicken set. *salty salty* After lunch it’s a trip to the restroom. Surprise… Surprise… Now, this is something I don’t think I’ve seen in Singapore yet.  This row here is the wash basin. Yup, the basin is just a slab of marble slanted inwards. Water just flowed down through this slanted piece! I was totally amazed. But of cuz, gotta act normal lah… Otherwise, the other ladies will laugh at me!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+

Ok it’s shopping time!  Some ugly Singapore lady just came forth to the shelf and wiped the bottom of her shoe on the shelf and walked off! Right before my very eyes! Apparently, this piece of “pizza-like” stuff got stucked on her sole. Grotesque animal!

Esther got this Mickey watch! My Fav! Steph got a Betty Boop one. Too bad I’m allergic to the metal. Haiz!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+

Came back to Singapore, dying for chicken rice. Check out the spread at Tong Seng Kopitiam opposite Mos Burger, Parco! *Yummy*

Steph: Hmmm… So thirsty, let me have some soup to wet my taste buds.

Esther: Hmmm… Next, a little bit of dark soya sauce to add to the taste… No chilli to be added…

Steph: Waa… Wat is she doing ah? Hmmm, take more soup.

Esther: After the rice turned dark brown color it’s time to add the chicken… Remember, choose the chicken breast meat…

Steph & Esther: Eh, this crazy woman take our pics for free huh?

Fer: Oh oh… Dinner Time!

Moved to Tears!

Just when I stepped off the final stair to my house, the postage guy was knocking at my door. Mr Ben was barking incessantly from behind the wooden door that separates them. I went forward and was told that the package was meant for me. From China…

The 1st layer: Hardrock Cafe T-shirt, Hong Kong.

Within this 1st layer, there is more than meets the eye.

There is 2nd layer: Starbucks Collector’s Mugs - Nuremberg (Germany) & Guangzhou (China)

Within these gifts lay another little surprise from Paris.

He remembers that I have a sweet tooth…

* It all adds up to so much of him - RG *

Oh Chariot~!

Gavin DeGraw • Chariot

Staring at a maple leaf

Leanin’ on the mother tree

I said to myself we all lost touch

Your favorite fruit is

Chocolate-covered cherry

Seedless watermelon, oh

Nothing from the ground is good enough

Body rise, look what’s over me

Oh chariot, your golden waves

Are walking down upon this face

Oh chariot, I’m singing out loud

To guide me, give me your… strength

Remember seeing moon’s rebirth?

Rains made mirrors of the earth

The sun was just yellow energy

There is a living promise land

Even over fields of sand

Since it’s filled my body, covered me

Bring it back, more than a memory

Oh chariot, your golden waves

Are walking down upon this face

Oh chariot, I’m singing out loud

To guide me, give me your strength

You’ll be my vacation away from this place

You know what I want

Holding that cup that’s pouring over the sides

You make me wanna spread my arms and fly

Oh chariot, your golden waves

Are walking down upon this face

Oh chariot, I’m singing out loud

To guide me, give me your strength

Give me your strength (Chariot)

Give me your strength (Chariot)

Give me your strength (Chariot)

Give me your strength (Chariot)

(Give me your strength) Give it to me (Chariot)

(Give me your strength) Give it to me (Chariot)

(Give me your strength) Give it to me (Chariot)

Give me your strength, oh chariot…
