Ok! Finally, Chinese New Year celebrations are over. Here’s the different scenes captured on camera! Kekeke… ;p
EVE OF CHINESE NEW YEAR 2006
First of all, the preparations for the festival. Here are some of mummy’s “artistic” decorations. Erhm, no comments… ;p

MINE! ALL MINE!!!
These goodies taste like a cross between the “Mua Chee” we usually find at Pasar Malams and Japanese dessert. Most ideal for sweet-toothies like ME!!!
Here’s my contribution for the festival. Kekeke… This piece of red cloth is believed to ward off evil things that “invade” households during this period!
Elderlys believe if we don’t hang this at the door during CNY, we will be not so smooth-sailing in the new lunar year! Well… Next please!!! :p
REUNION DINNER TIME!

“CHAP GOR”
On the last day of CNY (15th day a.k.a “Chap Gor” in Hokkien), Steph, Tiffy, Weixiang, Auntie Chris and me went to a temple at Paya Lebar for prayers to the Chinese God “Tai Sui” that is “on duty” for year 2006.
It is believed that in each lunar year, some of the 12 chinese Zodiac conflict with one of the 60 “Tai Sui”. And this year, those borned in the year of Goat, Ox, Dog and the other one which I can’t remember clashes with this year’s “Tai Sui”.
Personally, I’m not a religious person but just for the curiosity of it.
Check out these lanterns.
Each one of them costs about $60! And the temple was full of them!
After the hot and sweaty event at the temple, we went to Specialist Centre, Orchard Road, where I had my change of blouse.
We caught sight of a platoon marching past, followed by another group playing Chinese New Year songs with their musical instruments! Some said it was a change of guards at the Istana. Others said it’s a form of celebration for Chap Gor. Which is which?
What A New Year! *Phew*
