“Injuries from Rollerblade… 遍体鳞伤…”
For those of you who have been online on MSN, and have me in their MSN list would have seen this caption. That’s right, I fell while rollerblading at East Coast Park. It was the time I went for what Luke would call “Power Blading” after quite some time of “retirement”.
Recently, there was a small group of us in the office who started this blading craze and that sorta brought back my enthusiasm for the sport. In fact, we’re also looking into making this a weekly affair.
Anyway, so there I was, decided to resume my blading routine last sunday. You can call it a spur-of-the-moment decision ‘cuz I’ve decided only after breakfast with the badminton folks in the morning. Well, the usual kakis were not able to make it but that did not deter my plans. It was a good thing to have some time to myself, to clear my head I guess.
After this while of “inactivity” at the Park, I was surprised to see “upgrades” going on! Quite cool I muz say…

When The Porcupine Loves The Rose
Repeat #, @Repeat #
就像倔强的刺猬爱上了多心的玫瑰
当寂寞爱也无法碰触包围
心里愈有愧愈说无所谓
心里愈疲惫感觉愈钝反应却愈发尖锐

Undampen Spirits!
Hmmm… How much do you recall of the song “Count on me, Singapore”???
***
There was a time, when we all plan to rollerblade, but we din…
There was a time, when people say to postpone it, so we did…
We plan it this year, aim to meet.
Reaching out to people, for wealth of health bodies…
CHORUS:
Come with us, all of you.
We’ll have fun with rolling wheels.
Come with us, no fear of rise or fall.
Let’s make plans reality…
***
Well, the weather has not really been kind to outdoor kids like us. Eventually, only Si Min and myself went for the session after work. After all, the weather only cleared up as we were just about done with overtime that evening. Lucky us!
It was a good break away from my usual routine. The cool sea breeze helped to calm the heart. The trip not only created a good time to exchange rollerblading tips from each other, but also many hearty laughs at each other’s “balancing act” performances while streaming through messy plots of tree seeds. Si Min said they belonged to the Acacia (pronounced as uh-key-shuh) plant. I merely known them as blading hazards.
Oh by the way, this is Si Min.

We managed to cover the route between Macs and Fort Road that evening.
Next target: Between Macs and East Coast Food Centre!
This time round, we’ll have to get those lazy bums moving! Shake that body!

Can’t you hear the jammin’ pumpin’
While you taste a piece of mine
Drummer baby rhythm blast

Nothin’ can make this one stop
Toes be tappin’ fingers snappin’
Hands clappin’ My mouth’s rappin’
Talkin’ about how cold laughin’

And remember I like it warm

Nelly Furtardo - Say It Right
Amongst so many of her “Say it right” videos, this one taken at the America Music Awards is my favourite. Check out the backdrop…. The dry-ice effect… The lightings.. The costume… The “cinematography”… The song… The performers… The entire setup… Absolutely beautiful… It must have been real spectacular at the site…
Some of us may experience “hiccups” while playing it for the first time, depending on the speed of your internet connection. Bear with it for this 1st time and when you hit “Watch Again” the next time, you’ll know why I was so marvelled…

For One More Day
Synopsis “If you had the chance, just one chance, to go back and fix what you did wrong in life, would you take it? And if you did, would you be big enough to stand it? Mitch Albom, in this new book, once again demonstrates why he is one of my favourite writers: a fearless explorer of the wishful and magical, he is also a devout believer in the power of love. For One More Day will make you blink back tears of nostalgia. But most of all, it will make you believe in the eternal power of a mother’s love.” ~ James McBride, author of the Color of Water ~
Genre Fiction
Really good read!!! The best of Mitch Albom of all I’ve read so far! I thought Memoirs of the Geisha was captivating until I’ve read this one. Reader-friendly, smooth transition of storyline and just when you thought you’ve predicted the ending, an added twist that would leave you marvelling at the author’s fabulous scripting!
There’s a part of the story that actually spelt that when a person pass on, they never really went away. They’ll still respond to the calls of their loved ones in the hearts.
Thanks to Steph and Tiffy for getting me such a wonderful book for Christmas! The best read for 2006!
